Just today... I got up at 6:00 AM to get ready to go shooting with my friend and his dad, and his dads' friends. We drove out about an hour and a half out to the countryside to a pistol/shotgun/rifle range. And a perhaps the worlds largest plinking pit. We got to use military grade rifles and pistols. IT... WAS... AWESOME!!
Since my friends' dad is in the marines (he served in Iraq 06-07) My friend, and his other friend got to (safely learn how) shoot an M4A1 with ACOG, front grip, and a special light for when the marines burst through a door clearing out a room. We also used his Ak-47 that he captured, and a Beretta 92FS 9mm pistol. I said it before, and I will say it again: IT WAS AWESOME!!!
Apart from the junk we shot at the giant plinking pit, his a couple of his friends (one of whom who makes his own guns) amongst the guns my friend (and his dad) used (safely) at the plinking pit:
(In no particular order)
A .357 Magnum (lots of kick in the palm!)
An M1 Garand (Had some issues with reliability)
A 12-Gauge Pump-Action (with Birdshot loaded, didn't pay attention to what the make was, from the size of the shells, I could tell it was a 12 ga., that had some issues with rounds getting stuck in the chamber though.)
A 9mm Glock
A 9mm and .357 Sig Sauer P226 (Feels like MY dads' Walther PP 22lr.)
An unmodified AR-15 (No ACOG or grip, just plain iron sights

.)
Me and my friend decided to do some "Combat Reloading" with the 92FS. You take your time shooting, but when you get done with the magazine, you must reload as fast as you can. Shooting 2-3 rounds, that was fun.
So overall, you can obviously see I had lots of fun today! Getting a feel for military grade weapons, plinking at junk set-up in the big pit at the range (all sorts of junk.)
To close this... WOLVERINES!!!
